Immersive Tech like Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have become increasingly popular over the past years and are now becoming one of the top marketing trends.

Although over the years, VR is more popular than AR, it is predicted that AR will outpace VR this 2020 and by 2021, VR will fall behind.

Artificial Intelligence (AI), on the other hand, is at its peak this year, with its wide use in global businesses and industries. It has taken over many simple jobs because of its ability to mimic human intelligence and actions with the use of machines.

With the rapid changes in technology over the years, it is inevitable that companies will use modern ways of doing business. Plus, our consumers are using these technologies so we need to be where they are.

Are you looking at using immersive tech like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to upgrade your business? For some inspiration, here are ways some companies apply immersive tech in their businesses:

AR used by IKEA

Large companies like IKEA are already using Augmented Reality (AR). Through the IKEA app, customers can have a glimpse of what a piece of furniture would already look like in their room or area before buying it and going to the store. This can give consumers a better idea whether a particular IKEA item is exactly what they’re looking for and can save them more time when making buying decisions.

K5 Security Robot

Businesses such as Microsoft and Uber use Knightscope K5 robots to “patrol parking lots and large outdoor areas to predict and prevent crime. The robots can read license plates, report suspicious activity, and collect data to report to their owners.” These R2-D2-like robots can be rented for $7 an hour which is lower than a human security guard’s hourly wage.

Chatbots

Another interesting example of AI’s application in businesses is the use of “Chatbots”. To automate handling payments, Mastercard has created a Facebook messenger bot. It uses natural language processing software to know what their customer wants and respond as if their customers are chatting with a real person. With these exciting developments, no doubt that Artificial Intelligence will soon be the great force behind the major breakthroughs of many services in the future.

Gartner analysts forecasted a few years ago that by 2020, AI technologies would be present in almost every new software product and services. This same prediction has been supported by Harvard Business Review in 2019.
